This is a headline to go across the top of the page

Here is the First Column Text that I want to include in an article.  I’m simply putting this copy here because I need words in this space just to get a look at how the pages will appear.  It might be interesting to do tthis first column with the headline before the shortcode … possibly in Red …. and we’ll have to see how that looks.

In fact, I’m thinking about including a picture from some class, just as a way of showing how it will appear when the columns are in place.  so … let’s try it here.  I’ve included a picture of Merlin.  I don’t know if the text will wrap around it, but I think it will and that makes me so happy because it means that I can do some wonderful things with the special little plug in.

And I was also wondering if I could figure out how to put a block quote in because, as Abraham Lincoln once said:

“You can’t fool all of the people all of the time.”

I need to keep some more text going after the blockquote to see if I can get it to stay in the first column

Short Column

This is the second colum and I hope that I’ve got a green headline above it to make it stand out as significant.  I still don’t know yet how to include a picture, but I suspect that it’s pretty straight forward.  Now it seems that the blockquote I’ve included in column one wants to intrude on this second column, but that might be due to the fact that there isn’t anything in the second colum at that position, so it’s just wide open space.  And you know they say that nature abhors a vacuum.

I only need another paragraph or so to see what it’s going to take.  I sure hope this works, but if not I’m still light years ahead of where I last stopped.  This should be pretty straight-forward.

Oh, by the way … did you notice I opted NOT to put a picture of my class up here, because I thought it’d be nice to include Merlin.  Isn’t he a cutie?

This is an example page. It’s different from a blog post because it will stay in one place and will show up in your site navigation (in most themes). Most people start with an About page that introduces them to potential site visitors. It might say something like this:

Hi there! I’m a bike messenger by day, aspiring actor by night, and this is my blog. I live in Los Angeles, have a great dog named Jack, and I like piña coladas. (And gettin’ caught in the rain.)

…or something like this:

The XYZ Doohickey Company was founded in 1971, and has been providing quality doohickies to the public ever since. Located in Gotham City, XYZ employs over 2,000 people and does all kinds of awesome things for the Gotham community.
